The Independent Council of Aging, Inc. (ICA) is a voluntary, not-for-profit coalition of individuals, agencies, and businesses from the public and private sectors who provide services to seniors in Erie and Erie County. The Mission of the organization is to "improve the quality of life for mature adults while fostering a positive image of aging."
ICA's mission is accomplished through several events held throughout the year, including Comic Relief for Caregivers, the Annual Senior Art Show, the Elder Justice Conference, and the Valentine's Day Senior Luncheon.
Membership luncheon meetings are held monthly and hosted by the Regency at South Shore located at 322 Washington Place Erie, Pa 16505. We conduct our meetings in a hybrid setting, providing the opportunity for virtual attendance via Zoom for those unable to join in person. At the meeting, members enjoy a variety of speakers who talk on topics of interest to seniors. There are reports from committees and announcements from members. If you're a professional, senior advocate or interested in the care and welfare of our seniors, contact the ICA at (814) 835-7485 or email [email protected].
The ICA also sponsors a "Guide to Services." This guide is a detailed listing of agencies, emergency services, hospitals, education, finances, legal help, insurance, utilities, transportation, elder care/caregiver assistance, help with food, leisure, housing and living arrangements.
